A running marathon was launched in the entertainment area on the New Alamein City Corniche, as part of the activities of the New Alamein Festival.
The marathon supports the Palestinian cause and the Gaza Strip. It brought together approximately 10,000 participants of different ages as it aims to collect donations to help the people of the Gaza Strip, the statement added.
This came on the sidelines of the opening of the 70th Eastern Mediterranean session of the World Health Organization global conference, which will be jeld this afternoon at the organization’s headquarters in Cairo.
This comes ahead, and amid preparations for Egypt's hosting of the Climate Change Conference ( Cop27), which is scheduled to be held in Sharm El-Sheikh next November.
