Egypt is set to launch the National Plan for Combating Drugs and Reducing the risks of Drug abuse and addiction.
Service recipients included 8,208 residents of alternative-housing neighborhoods, which were built for former slum dwellers.
Dr. Hayam Abdel Ghaffar, spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, said that this comes within the framework of the interest the ministry attaches to psychological support services, psychological counseling and addiction treatment, as efforts continue to educate citizens on how to obtain medical consultations for mental health, through the electronic platform.
This center is to become a basic focal point for the treatment of those who are financially unable, in accordance with the Ministry's strategy to improve the public health of citizens.
Some of the cases are former slum-dwellers, who were moved to alternative-housing neighborhoods.
The fund also is organizing workshops for children from those areas and Haya Karima villages to train them on how to think with positively, face problems and and make sound decisions.
The official page of the fund published an infograph on Facebook about the efforts of the fund's hotline "16023" during the past 7 months.
