Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin will participate via video conference on Tuesday in a ceremony of pouring the first concrete into the foundation of the fourth power unit at Egypt’s El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant, announced the Kremlin on Monday.
He stressed that the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority is technically and scientifically responsible for operating the Dabaa nuclear reactor in cooperation with the Russian company Rosatom.
The new amendments assign the authority to desalinate water by using nuclear power, while also acknowledging the authority as the sole owner and operator of all nuclear power plants across Egypt.
During the meeting, the two sides underscored mutual commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations in various fields. They also valued the close bilateral relations and historical friendship between the Egyptian and Russian peoples.
It equally inaugurated at the Russian Cultural Center a photo exhibition portraying different nuclear power industries such as nuclear fuel and floating reactors.
