Dabaa Nuclear power Plant
CAIRO - 21 June 2017: Contracts for Russian construction of nuclear power plants in Egypt are being prepared and are expected to be signed soon, ROSATOM’s first deputy director general for corporate development and international business, Kirill Komarov, said Tuesday.
“The Egyptian side aspires to provide energy from the nuclear power plant over 60 years,” Komarov added.
Four contracts to construct the nuclear power plant will be signed soon, the Russian official said in a press conference during Atomexpo-2017.
The Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy announced the final draft of the four contracts with Russia on the construction of a nuclear power plant in the city of Dabaa are done, according to Russian news agency Sputnik.
Egypt and Russia signed an intra-governmental agreement concerning cooperation and the construction of a nuclear power plant in Dabaa city on the Mediterranean Sea on November 19, 2015, alongside an agreement on the terms and conditions of the $25 billion loan to Egypt.
