EGX flags in green Sunday, market cap. gains LE 9.5B

CAIRO – 16 October 2022: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Sunday’s session in the green zone, adding around LE 9.5 billion to the market capitalization, amid Egyptian and Arab purchases.
 
The benchmark EGX30 increased 1.98 percent, or 195.14 points, to end at 10,048.88 points.
 
The equally weighted index EGX 50 rose 1.44 percent, or 27.05 points, to end at 1,905.91 points.
 
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 1.61 percent, or 34.71 points, to close at 2,186.65 points, and the broader index EGX 100 climbed 1.56 percent, or 48.02 points, at 3,125.71 points.
 
Market capitalization gained around LE 9.5 billion, recording LE 697.04 billion, compared to LE  687.55 billion in Thursday’s session.
 
The trading volume reached 528.43 million shares, traded through 44,059 transactions, with a turnover of LE 935.96 million.
 
Foreign investors were net sellers at LE 72.24 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers at LE 21.09 million, and LE 51.14 million, respectively.
 
Egyptian and Arab individuals were net sellers at LE 9.5 million, and LE 885,661, respectively, while foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 2.27 million.
 
Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 30.59 million, and LE 52.03 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 74.51 million.
 
Kafr El Zayat Pesticides, International Co for Investment & Development, and Ismailia National Food Industries were top gainers of the session at 20 percent, 8.90 percent and 8.49 percent, respectively.
 
Meanwhile, Rakta Paper Manufacturing, Belton Financial Holding, and Arabian Food Industries (DOMTY) were top losers of the session by 10.87 percent, 5.30 percent, and 3.79 percent, respectively.
