EGX ends mid-week session on mixed performance, market cap. loses LE 1.28B

CAIRO – 9 November 2021: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended mid-week session on mixed note, losing around LE 1.28 billion of market capitalization, amid Arab purchases.

  

The benchmark EGX30 hiked 0.79 percent, or 90.91 points, to end at 11,588.42 points.

 

The equally weighted index EGX 50 dipped 1.14 percent, or 23.43 points, to end at 2,036.83 points.

 

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 dropped 1.05 percent, or 23.14 points, to close at 2,186.08 points.


The broader index EGX100 descended 0.97 percent, or 30.97 points, to close at 3,164.49 points.
 

 

Market capitalization lost around LE 1.28 billion, recording LE 734.29 billion, compared to LE 735.57 billion in Monday’s session.

 

The trading volume reached 253.1 million shares, traded through 35,780 transactions, with a turnover of LE 810.53 million.

 

Arab investors were net buyers at LE 39.08 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 14.26 million, and LE 24.82 million, respectively.

 

Arab and foreign individuals were net buyers at LE 24.6 million, and LE 760,015, respectively, while Egyptian individuals were net buyers at LE 92.65 million.

 

Egyptian and Arab organizations bought at LE 78.38 million, and LE 14.47 million, respectively, while foreign organizations sold at LE 25.58 million.

 

Egyptian Arabian (cmar) Securities Brokerage EAC, Tanmiya for Real Estate Investment, and El Obour Real Estate Investment were top gainers of the session at 19.96 percent, 6.73 percent and 5.74 percent, respectively.

 

Meanwhile, Ismailia Development and Real Estate Co, Zahraa Maadi Investment & Development, and TransOceans Tours were top losers of the session by 15.23 percent, 9.81 percent, and 9.09 percent, respectively.

 

EGX ended Monday on mixed note, as: EGX30 decreased 0.50 percent, while EGX 50 rose 1.09 percent, EGX 70 hiked 2.09 percent, and EGX100 ascended 1.47 percent.
