EGX ends mid-week in green, market cap. gains LE1.63B

CAIRO – 24 August 2021: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Tuesday’s session in green, adding around LE 1.63 million to market capitalization, amid Arab purchases.

The benchmark EGX30 rose 0.61 percent, or 65.95 points, to end at 10,950.24 points.

The equally weighted index EGX 50 hiked 0.79 percent, or 19.13 points, to end at 2,439.57 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 rose 0.22 percent, or 6.68 points, to close at 2,980.35 points, and the broader index EGX 100 climbed 0.40 percent, or 15.77 points, to close at 3,948.68 points.

Market capitalization gained around LE 1.63 billion, recording LE 724.51 billion, compared to LE 722.89 billion in Monday’s session.

The trading volume reached 599.78 million shares, traded through 70,356 transactions, with a turnover of LE 2.57 billion.

Arab investors were net buyers at LE 40.92 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 34.08 million, and LE 6.83 million, respectively.

Egyptian, and Arab individuals were net buyers at LE 22.79 million, and LE 21.65 million, respectively, while foreign organizations were net sellers at LE 1.86 million.

Egyptian and foreign organizations sold at LE 56.88 million, and LE 4.97 million, respectively, while Arab organizations bought at LE 4.97 million.

Egyptian for Tourism Resorts, Misr Hotels, and El Shams Housing & Urbanization, were top gainers of the session at 10 percent, 9.86 percent and 9.37 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, El Kahera El Watania Investment, Arab Valves Company, and Delta for Printing & Packaging were top losers of the session by 8.71 percent, 8.47 percent, and 6.92 percent, respectively.

EGX ended Monday in green, as: EGX30 rose 1.81 percent, EGX 50 increased 1.26 percent, EGX 70 hiked 1.74 percent, and EGX 100 inched up 1.52 percent.
