All four of Egypt’s telecom operators have now received 5G licenses from the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA), announced Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Amr Talaat, on Monday.
NTRA fined mobile service providers LE 32 million for violating the standards and determinants of the quality of mobile phone services during the first quarter of 2023.
The National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has financed the development of Egyptian rural villages by L.E. 150 million, and about 600 million are expected to be dispersed during the fiscal year 2022/2023.
This came within the framework of the NTRA’s keenness to improve the quality of telecommunication services provided to users.

The authority said that the decision came as part of directives of Minister of Communications and Information Technology Amr Talaat in support of Egypt’s doctors, who represent the first line of defense against the novel virus.

The ruling also rejected all applications submitted by Vodafone and obliged it to pay the expenses and costs incurred by Egypt Telecom of about $440,000 before the arbitration.

The LE 100 recharging card will give LE 70 credit, instead of LE 100.
