CAIRO – 7 September 2017: Egypt’s three mobile service providers raised the prices of the international calls to LE 3 instead of LE 2 per minute on Thursday, following the approval of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA).

The price differs in the peak and non-peak times; as in peak hours, it reaches up to LE 7.25 per minute. For the hard-to-reach zones, international rate will be LE 12 per minute.
Sources in the aforementioned companies ascribed the price hike to higher ending calls’ costs on networks, for which the service providers pay in foreign currencies.

The new prices come as follows:

Calls to Arab states and the U.S:

• Price per minute in the peak time is LE 5.25.
• Price per minute in the non-peak time ranges between LE 4.05 and LE 4.25.

Calls to Europe and Canada:

• Price per minute in the peak time is LE 6.25
• Price per minute in the non-peak time is LE 5.25
The following are the new prices of international calls for each of the three service providers: Vodafone, Etisalat and Orange.
