Egypt’s Ahmed Shawky, the first Arab critic to head FIPRESCI
The Cairo Governorate denied on Tuesday what is being circulated on news websites and social media, regarding removing tombs of historic figures Imam Warsh, Ahmed Shawky
This is the first time an Egyptian critic chairs this prestigious committee.
The symposium will be held on February 27 at 6 p.m.
The award’s value is LE 100,000 for each winner and a bronze statue of Ahmed Shawky designed especially for this occasion.
The award is granted to a poet from Egypt and another from a different country, who possess the characteristics of creative uniqueness and poetic excellence.
The salon presents paragraphs of poetry for Egypt’s iconic poets, including Ahmed Shawky, Fouad Haddad, Salah Jahin and Sayed Hegab.
Mohamed Abdel Wahab was an iconic Egyptian singer and composer.
Osiris will host a workshop by the acclaimed cinema critic Ahmed Shawky scheduled for 6 p.m. on January 24
