CAIRO – 29 August 2023: The Cairo Governorate denied on Tuesday what is being circulated on news websites and social media, regarding the removal of the tombs of prominent historic Islamic Figure, Imam Warsh and Egyptian poet, Linguist, Ahmed Shawky, as part of the development work taking place in the region.
Cairo Governorate confirmed that what is currently being circulated in this regard is ‘completely untrue’.
The Cairo Governorate also called on all media and social media users to investigate accuracy and objectivity in publishing news, and to communicate with the concerned authorities to ensure that the information is correct before publishing it.
