Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, Aguila Saleh, meet on Wednesday with the President of the Libyan Supreme Council of State in Cairo.
Egypt’s Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hanafi Jabali, said that he signed an agreement was signed to enhance cooperation between the Libyan and Egyptian parliaments.
"This formed committee is independent, and it discusses its findings with the House of Representatives," he added.
Libyan leaders held talks in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on Wednesday, during which they agreed on drawing a “clear and specified” roadmap later in order to hold the long-awaited elections.
Saleh, in a meeting with US Ambassador in Tripoli Richard Norland Sunday, said the national electoral committee does play a decisive role in this regard.
Saleh also urged the government to arrange for next elections on December 24, 2021.

Libyan Parliament Speaker Aguila Saleh on Friday hailed Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s “brave” stance after a comprehensive ceasefire was announced by conflicting parties in Libya.
The Libyan Speaker, Aguila Saleh, said in a statement that he on behalf of the Libyan people appreciates the speech given by the President Abdel Fatah al Sisi.
Saleh called on the Arab Parliament to support efforts of the Libyan people to counter terrorism and stand against the Turkish invasion of his country.
