This comes as part of a plan to replace and renew obsolete tasks in order to preserve the safety of operation and the stability of electrical supply and to face increased loads in the region.
The company clarified that the contracts are to construct three substations in Central and North Sinai.
The consortium included: the National Bank of Egypt, the Commercial International Bank, Bank Du Caire and National Bank of Kuwait.
The deal included the construction of overhead transmission line (2X30 km) worth E£148 million on turnkey basis to connect Toshka 4 substation.
The contract is for the construction of the Alex West 220/66/11 KV transformer substation project, in an area affiliated to the Alexandria and West Delta electricity region.
The implementation period of the contract is 12 months.
The launch ceremony will be start in Toshka, with the presence of Egyptian Minister of Electricity Mohamed Shaker, and leaders from both Ministries of Electricity in Egypt and Sudan, and the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company.
The signing ceremony was attended by Minister of Electricity and Energy Mohamed Shaker and UAE ambassador in Cairo Gomaa Mubarak.
EBRD clarified that this loan aims to support the development of a more resilient and robust electricity grid across Egypt.

This is the first project to be carried out under the Auction system, she added.
The 195-kilometer-long line will be set up within six months, the ministry said, noting that the company has secured the needed funds for the line's establishment.

The agreement was signed between both parties in July 2016, involving developing the substations in New Cairo, Beni Suef, Dakahlia and Ismailia.
