CAIRO – 18 March 2019: Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) signed Monday four contracts within the framework of the electricity and renewable energy sector's efforts to support and develop electricity transmission grids all over the country.
The contracts were signed by Chairman of EETC Sabah Meshaly to establish four electricity transformers.

The first contract stipulates to establish the New Zagazig transformer with a voltage of 500/220/66/11 kilovolts, and a total cost of about LE 725.8 million, funded by the company itself. The transformer is gas-isolated switchgear (GIS).

The second one is called the second economic transformer with a voltage of 500/220/66/22 kilovolts, worth LE 716.2 million, and funded by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development. It is also a GIS that will be implemented in 12 months from the date of signing the contract.

The third contract is funded by the European Investment Bank with LE 49.17 million to supply and supervise the installation of two 125 MVA transformers with a voltage of 220/66/11 kilovots and two transformers of 40 MVA of 66/11 kilovolts at the Gamasa transformer station to be implemented within 14 months from the date of signing the contract.

With a cost of LE 206 million, the fourth contract will be funded by EETC to supply and install 11 transformers with a voltage of 175 megavolt ampere to different stations. This contract will be implemented on two levels; the first one will include two transformers in Beni Suef with 220 KV, two transformers in West Fayoum with 220 KV, and two adapter connectors in Aswan with 220 KV.

The second level will include two transformers in Old Zagazig with 220 KV, one transformer in Old 10th of Ramadan with 220 KV, and two transformers in Temay El Amdeed with 220 KV.
