EGX adds LE93.22B to market cap. on Thursday

CAIRO - 7 March 2024: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Thursday in the green zone, adding around LE 93.22 billion to the market capitalization, amid foreign purchases.
 
The benchmark EGX30 surged 5.24 percent, or 1,557.43 points, to end at 31,300.54 points.
 
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 0.30 percent, or 21.87 points, to close at 7,223.93 points.
 
Furthermore, the broader index EGX 100 jumped 1.02 percent, or 103.42 points, to 10,281.1 points.
  
Market capitalization gained around LE 93.22 billion, recording LE 2.125 trillion, compared to LE 2.032 trillion in Wednesday’s session.
 
The trading volume reached 696.72 million shares, traded through 144,362 transactions, with a turnover of LE 6.63 billion.
 
Foreign investors were net buyers at LE 610.54 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers at LE 385.82 million, and LE 224.73 million, respectively.
 
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank- Egypt, Egyptian Gulf Marseilia for Real Estate Investment, and Commercial International Bank-Egypt (CIB) were top gainers of the session at 9.81percent, 9.76 percent, and 9.50 percent, respectively.
 
Meanwhile, Acrow Misr, Obour Land for Food Industries, and Misr National Steel - Ataqa were top losers of the session by 8.09 percent, 5.76 percent, and 4.95 percent, respectively.
