CAIRO - 21 September 2023: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Thursday’s session in the green zone, adding around LE 14.6 billion to the market capitalization, amid local and foreign purchases.
 
The benchmark EGX30 rose 1.43 percent, or 283.34 points, to end at 20,080.57 points.
 
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 hiked 0.76 percent, or 28.97 points, to close at 3,828.64 points.
 
The broader index EGX 100 increased 0.91 percent, or 51.26 points, to 5,675.19 points.
  
Market capitalization gained around LE 14.6 billion, recording LE 1.356 trillion, compared to LE 1.342 trillion in Wednesday’s session.
 
The trading volume reached 624.71 million shares, traded through 75,100 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.97 billion.
 
Arab investors were net sellers at LE 34.84 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers at LE 22.04 million, and LE 12.8 million, respectively.
 
Egyptian Media Production City, Ismailia National Food Industries, and Macro Group Pharmaceuticals -Macro Capital were top gainers of the session at 12.03 percent, 10.91 percent and 10.66 percent, respectively.
 
Meanwhile, Alexandria Containers and goods, El-Nile Co. for Pharmaceuticals and Chemical Industries, and Memphis Pharmaceuticals were top losers of the session by 2.61 percent, 2.60 percent, and 2.53 percent, respectively.
