CAIRO - 12 December 2021: Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indexes posted collective gains at the close of Sunday's trading session, backed by strong purchases by local and foreign institutions and investment funds, amid optimism about the finance minister's announcement that Egypt would join JP Morgan’s Emerging Markets Bond Index (EMBI) as of January 2022.
The market capital gained about LE 6.1 billion to hit lE 736.2 billion at closing, after transactions that totaled LE 1.8 billion.
The EGX 30 benchmark index jumped by 1.5 percent, registering 11,708.05 points.
The broader EGX 70 EWI index of the leading small and mid-cap enterprises (SMEs) increased by 1.05 percent, closing at 2,137.16 points.
The all-embracing EGX 100 index was up 0.97 percent, ending at 3,151.3 points.
