Egyptian Journalists Syndicate
The Freedoms Committee of Egypt’s Journalists Syndicate has urged a thorough review of the articles concerning publishing and pretrial detention in the draft Criminal Procedures Code currently under discussion in Parliament.
The Egyptian authorities released on Monday the long-held Al-Jazeera journalist, Hesham Abdel Aziz, and journalist Raouf Ebeid from pretrial detention.
Also, the code of conduct and ethics for the national dialogue was also issued, Rashwan said after the first meeting of the board of trustees of the dialogue in National Training Academy (NTA) headquarters.
Undersecretary of the Journalists Syndicate Khaled Miri said only 900 journalists have registered to vote in the syndicate’s mid-term election held on Friday, representing less than half of the quorum required
