Early Detection
The Ministries of Social Solidarity and Health and Population will launch on Sunday the activities of the “Sooner is Safer” campaign, in nine governorates across the Republic, encouraging citizens to undergo early detection and treatment of various cancerous tumors.
The ministry explained that the initiative aims to detect the disease in the early stages, thus reducing deaths resulting from it, and reducing the financial burden in late cases.
Egypt’s newly-launched “100 Healthy Days” healthcare campaign that targets 105 million people nationwide has provided over 4.77 million services since it kicked off on 25 June until Friday.
Egypt’s Ministry of Health announced on Friday that more than 3.9 million babies have been examined under the presidential initiative to examine and treat hearing impairment in newborns.
This comes under the initiative of the “100 million healthy lives”, with the aim of reaching a healthy generation free from disabilities.
Egypt’s Health Ministry has affirmed that the presidential health initiatives launched over the past years for the early detection and treatment of a number of diseases have so far supported 86 million people.
The presidential initiative for the early detection of breast cancer is set to be implemented on three stages.
The first group of governorates targeted by the campaign include Alexandria, Port Said and South Sinai.
