With the COVID-19 pandemic causing the most severe global health and economic crisis in at least seven decades, Egypt has been one of the countries whose approach to contain the pandemic and maintain a resilient economy has been singled out on a global level.
"Egypt will grow around 2 percent, as on the eve of the pandemic Egypt had a high growth rate. It was 5.6 percent in the first half of the last fiscal year," said World Bank’s Country Director Marina Wes.
The EASE Project and its additional finance are financed by the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Transition Fund.
I think Egypt has achieved a lot, if you look at some of the micro-economic and growth data, I think a lot has been achieved, but I still see areas where more can be done.
