A campaign of civil disobedience to demand civilian rule left the streets of Sudan's capital Khartoum largely deserted as the working week began on Sunday.
Two more demonstrators died in unrest that began last month and raged across Sudanese cities on Thursday.
At least one protester was killed in the northern Sudanese city of Atbara on Friday, the security chief said.
Leading Sudanese opposition figure Sadiq al-Mahdi returned to Sudan on Wednesday from nearly a year in self-imposed exile.
