Shaarawy lauded the support presented by Zayed to implement the initiative in the different governorates.
Shaarawy said that such projects will utilize the materials available in the local environment and turn them into new products that can be reused in food and craft industrial projects.
The governorates are: Minya, Sohag, Beni Suef, Dakahlia, Gharbia, Luxor, New Valley, Sharkia and Menoufia.
Attending the meeting that was held via video conference earlier Sunday were the governors of Giza, Fayyoum, Beni Sweif, Minya, Assiut, Sohag, Qena, Luxor and Aswan.
Local Development Minister Mahmoud Sharawi instructed governors nationwide to halt the issuance of building permits.
The minister's remarks came during his participation in a ceremony organized by the fund to inaugurate a number of development projects in Sohag governorate.
The program is partially funded by the World Bank (WB) with a sum of dollars 500 million alongside a dollar 457 million contribution by the government.
This came on Tuesday during Shaarawy's meeting with a delegation from the Chinese company Yutong which is specialized in manufacturing electric and natural gas-powered buses.
This came during the talks the minister held here on Wednesday with a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam and his accompanying delegation.
The money will be used to support the urgent development needs in 22 governorates, including water and sanitation projects.
