Egypt extends condolences to United States on Hawaii wildfires' victims

CAIRO – 13 August 2023: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Sunday Egypt's condolences on the victims of Hawaii wildfires and whose number amounts to almost 100.

The ministry wished the injured a speedy recovery, expressing solidarity with the government and people of the United States in the face of the catastrophe that is the worst in a century.

Earlier in August, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said, in a phone call with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, the United States was keen to coordinate with Egypt to end the crisis in Sudan.

In that framework, Blinken praised Egypt’s significant role within the Sudan neighboring states mechanism.
