Egypt will face Italy at the semi-finals on Friday, hoping to win and earn a spot at the final.
Mselhy was in the 2005 team squad that won the gold medal; they remain the only Egyptian team to win a gold medal in a first team international competition.
Aidy was appointed in April 2018 as an assistant to the national team manager, Mohamed Mselhy.
Al-Ahly has had an amazing season under Mselhy’s command, achieving the Egyptian League, Egypt’s Cup and African Volleyball Clubs Championship titles.
The new coaching staff will lead the national team at the 2018 Mediterranean Games in Tarragona, Spain.
