In a statement Friday, head of the Egyptian Federation of Hot Air Ballooning Companies in Luxor Ahmed Aboud said the flights, operated by several travel agencies, flew over the city's archaeological sites.
An English tourist was thought to be missing in Luxor for four days; however, he returned and said he decided to enjoy a trip in the mountains west of Luxor.
Sixteen hot air balloon flights took off in Luxor Wednesday, carrying 306 tourists of various nationalities.
