The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum, Tarek El-Molla, witnessed the signing of the agreement along with Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dragon Oil Company,
Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El Molla, stated that the petroleum sector, in collaboration with its global partners, is working to boost production rates and increase oil and gas reserves.
"COP 27 in Sharm El Sheikh was a wonderful host and a step towards addressing climate change, accelerating energy transition, and contributing to the close partnership with Egypt in dealing with the energy sector,” Jørgensen stated.
This comes in light of maximizing the use of land and maritime facilities established to accelerate development and production plans to meet the growing demand of the local market, and to support the state’s efforts to export surplus energy, according to statements by the CEO of British Petroleum, Murray Auchincloss.

The Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS) 2023 is held under the auspices of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and with the support of the Ministry of Petroleum & Mineral Resources from 13-15 February 2023.
“Egypt has a proven track record of leadership in energy production, distribution, and security, as well as green technologies,” Cohen said, as he witnessed the signing of several deals between US companies and the Egyptian government, the US Embassy in Cairo said in a statement.
The agreements included a service agreement between the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation and Baker Hughes to cooperate in the field of gas recovery and reducing carbon emissions, which was signed by geologist Alaa El-Batal, CEO of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, and Engineer Tamir Nasser, Director General of Baker Hughes Egypt, according to a statement.
The Secretary-General of OPEC Mohammad Barkindo praised Egypt’s achievements in energy field over the years.
