CAIRO - 26 January 2022: The Egypt Petroleum Show (EGYPS) will take place on February 14-16 under the aegis of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla said.
The 5th edition of the North African and the Mediterranean’s leading oil, gas and energy exhibition and conference will serve as a new starting point for active dialogue to draw up a sectoral roadmap towards a sustainable future, Molla told reporters during a news conference on Tuesday.
It also offers a great opportunity for relevant experts to share their views on the best ways to create a more inclusive environment, Molla noted.
This year's edition is expected to see extensive participation from many international companies and institutions, especially after a one-year hiatus due to COVID, the minister added.
Molla said, "this year's edition comes at a critical time for the global oil and gas industry, which is gradually recovering from the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic."
It also coincides with ongoing efforts and plans to reshape energy markets and transition to green forms of energy, the minister told journalists during the presser.
He noted that the event's agenda will include a strategic dialogue tackling new issues of interest to key stakeholders in the global oil industry, especially in light of ongoing preparations for the COP27 UN Climate Change Conference Egypt will host in November.
Over 40 local and global companies are expected to participate in the event, which will also see contributions from many international pavilions, the minister said.
EGYPS 2020 hosted 438 exhibitors from 80 countries and welcomed 30,369 attendees over 3 days.
