Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has called for tackling the root causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by backing the path of calm and advancing efforts of settling the Palestinian cause.
Israel has warned its citizens of travelling to Middle East countries, including Egypt, as well as other countries with travel warnings a day after the Israeli government announced the “state of war” against Hamas fighters in Gaza.
Charles Michel, President of the European Council, said Europe is keen to consult with Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi in order to end violence and escalating Palestinian-Israeli tension that foreshadows serious consequences.
Egypt has called for stopping unilateral actions undertaken by Israel, warning against such unilateral actions, including Israel's continued settlement activities, violence acts against Palestinian civilians and demolition of Palestinian homes.
Sisi affirmed the continuation of Egypt’s tireless efforts, in cooperation with the Palestinian brothers and international partners to formulate a clear vision during the coming period, with the aim of advancing the peace process efforts, the Presidency added.
Ahmed Abu el-Gheit called on Japan Monday, during the first ministerial meeting for the Arab-Japanese Political Dialogue, to recognize the statehood of Palestine.
