Cairo Summit for Peace
The foreign ministers of Egypt and eight other Arab countries reiterated on Thursday rejection of the forced displacement of the Palestinian people and attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause at the expense of the Palestinian people and the other peoples in the region.
President Sisi warned that ending the Palestinian cause without a just solution will never happen, and that it will never happen at the expense of Egypt.
In his speech at the Cairo Summit for Peace, Abbas called for implementing the two-state solution and resolving the refugee issue based on United Nations Resolution 194, asking for an immediate end to the Israeli aggression and for the opening of humanitarian corridors to allow food, medicine and other necessities into besieged Gaza Strip.
“I want to state it clearly and unequivocally to the world, and articulate in sincere terms the will of all the Egyptian people, every single Egyptian: that the liquidation of the Palestinian cause without a just solution is beyond the realm of possibility, and in all cases it will never happen at the expense of Egypt, absolutely not,” said President Sisi.
Many trucks loaded with humanitarian aid have entered the Gaza Strip from Egypt on Saturday morning after two weeks of Israeli strikes that flattened homes and left hundreds of thousands of Palestinians homeless.
