According to Sherif Al-Sayyad, Chair of Egypt's Engineering Export Council, April 2024 reported a record 50.3 percent increase in engineering exports, the highest in the sector’s history, reaching $431.5 million, compared to $287.1 million in April 2023
The figures showed that the after Egyptian engineering exports recorded levels that are the highest in the history of Egyptian engineering exports.
This marked the highest value achieved in the history of engineering exports, surpassing the $3.841 billion recorded in 2022, according to the statement
In July 2023, engineering exports hit $331 million, up by 14 percent compared to $290 million recorded in July 2022
The sector’s exports surged by 47.5 percent, to record around $158 million during the first 5 months of 2023, the EEC chairperson explained, compared to $107 million in the same period last year
Engineering exports witnessed a 4 percent increase in June 2022 compared to the same month 2021, reaching $303 million compared to $291 million in June of 2021, according to a press release.
Engineering exports witnessed a 41 percent increase in March 2022 compared to the same month 2021, reaching $392 million in March 2022, compared to $278 million in March 2021.
In a statement Thursday, the Engineering Export Council of Egypt (EECE) said exports reached $278 million compared with $223.5 during the same period of 2021.
The engineering exports rose in the first half of the 2021 by 54 percent, reaching $1.462 billion compared to $950 million during the same period of the 2020.
The engineering exports rose in the first four months of the fiscal year 2020/2021 by 49 percent, reaching $967.7 million, compared to $650.2 million during the same period of the fiscal year 2019/2020.
