Cairo Derby is back

CAIRO-22 August 2020: Al Ahly and Zamalek face off in Cairo Derby on Saturday night  at Cairo stadium. 

 

The match is considered the highlight of the season for Egyptian football fans who follow their teams passionately and they consider winning the derby as a special trophy. 

 

Al Ahly lead the Egyptian league table with 56 points after 20 games and they are enjoying an unbeaten run, which is threatened on Sunday, as Al Ahly's last loss in all competitions came against Zamalek in Abu Dhabi in February during the Egyptian Super Cup.  

 

On the other hand, the White Knights are not having their best season on domestic level as they are third in the table with 39 points. 

 

Al Ahly's victory means that the team is taking a massive step towards their 42th league title. 

 

Football fans in Egypt believe that the derby result does not depend on the two teams' performances during the season or their position in the table.
