CAIRO-28 October 2021: Egypt's match against Gabon in Matchday 6 of the 2022 FIFA World Cup African qualifiers will be played on 16 November at 3:00 PM, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced.

Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria hosts the match and the EFA has asked authorities to allow 30k fans in the stands to support the team.

The game was originally scheduled on 15 November but the national team coaching staff decided to change the date to have more time to prepare for the match.

"We will face Angola away from home on 12 November so we need more time to rest and prepare between the two matches." Egypt's assistant coach Diaa El Sayed stated.

The Pharaohs are leading the group with 10 points after four games and they are the favourites to reach the final round of the qualifications with two games remaining.

Egypt achieved three wins and lost only two points as the team was held to a 1-1 draw against Gabon away from home.

El Sayed also said that the coaching staff will announce the team's squad for the last two matches of the qualifications after the Cairo derby between Al Ahly and Zamalek, scheduled on 5 November.
