CAIRO – 5 September 2017: Minister of Industry Tarek Kabil will inaugurate Wednesday the third edition of the China-Arab States Expo in China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, according to a Tuesday statement from the ministry.
Kabil, who is accompanying President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi in his visit to China’s Xiamen to attend BRICS Summit, will give the opening speech of the exhibition, which will include a cultural and tourism branch for Egypt.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, Egypt will hold a conference to promote investment and trade between Cairo and Beijing, Kabil added.
After that, Kabil will meet representatives of the Chinese government to discuss bilateral trade and increasing Chinese projects in Egypt.
The Minister will negotiate with China Development Bank possibilities of funding Chinese projects in Egypt, especially in fields of transport, electricity, New Administrative Capital and Suez Canal Development Axis.
Sisi headed to China Sunday to take part in the BRICS summit upon an invitation by President Xi.
The Shanghai-based BRICS group comprises the large fast-growing nations Brazil, Russia, India, China and recent member South Africa.
The five nations have a combined nominal GDP of $16.6 trillion, equivalent to approximately 22 percent of the gross world product, combined GDP of around $37 trillion and an estimated $4 trillion in combined foreign reserves.
