CAIRO - 15 July 2024: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly recently handed over housing units as part of the presidential initiative "Housing for All Egyptians" in Gardens Capital City. He also viewed a documentary showcasing completed housing projects.

The Prime Minister highlighted that the construction of 1.5 million housing units since 2014 has resolved housing issues for approximately 6 to 7 million Egyptians.

Minister of Housing, Sherif Al-Sharbiny, noted that the housing gap and population increase necessitate between 350,000 to 400,000 housing units. He emphasized that the 1.5 million units constructed since 2014 have significantly addressed this demand.

During the handover of housing units, Al-Sharbiny stated that the next goal is to build 300,000 more units to further bridge the gap between housing supply and demand, in line with a comprehensive plan.

Mai Abdel Hamid, CEO of the Social Housing Fund, announced that 516,000 housing units in new cities have been completed, with an additional 27,000 units currently being offered. She explained that new cities will improve the quality of life and address the housing crisis. Abdel Hamid also mentioned the construction of 15,000 housing units across various governorates and the completion of 23,000 middle-income housing units in new cities.
