The meeting was attended by the ministers of electricity, foreign affairs, petroleum, planning, international cooperation, finance, local development, environment, communications, housing, transport and civil aviation.

The premier asserted the importance of periodic follow-up of the infrastructure development projects in Sharm el Sheikh to ensure good preparations for receiving the conference’s guests.

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry reviewed the outcome of the consultations held over the past period, saying that the adaptation file has been receiving great interest since the past summit held in Glasgow.

He added that the developing countries agree on Egypt’s leading role in achieving the aspired consensus through its presidency of COP 27.

The foreign minister reviewed the results of his recent Asian tour, during which he held important talks and Egypt was invited to participate in the G20 climate sustainability and energy working groups.

Meanwhile, Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad reviewed a report on the technical and logistical status of preparations for the conference.

The report also shed light on the initiatives proposed to be raised during the conference, topped by those related to water poverty, protection of coastal areas, development of sustainable cities and waste management files.
