Egypt and Turkey have proposed signing an MoU on issues of industrial cooperation in a meeting between their industry ministers in Ankara, the Egyptian Ministry of Trade and Industry said in a statement on Thursday.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has approved the appointment of Amr El-Hamamy as the new Egyptian ambassador to Turkey, the official gazette reported on Saturday.
Egypt and Turkey agree on the common goal of supporting peace and stability in the region, Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid has affirmed.
“This is a constructive step that would contribute to enhancing bilateral cooperation to serve the joint interests within the framework of mutual respect and the rules of the international law,” Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
Turkey has shown understanding of the importance of the Libyan issue and its impact on Egypt’s national security, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said.
Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said he will visit Turkey in two days to complete the path of normalization of relations that the two countries have started.
Egypt and Turkey started on Wednesday two-day political talks held in Cairo after years of a strained relationship between the two countries.
