President Sisi held another meeting with the prime minister and minister of transport, during which developments of the intensive efforts to localise the transport and railway industry in Egypt were presented, partnership with the private sector.
As part of the initiative, developing roads and improving the quality of transport services is a priority in more than 4,600 villages, according to a report by the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development.
The New Valley Governorate is close to conclude the construction of the longest road network with lengths of more than 1,200 km as the New Year approaches.
The President inspected the Heliopolis-Ramses axis and its extension route to the 6th of October city, Radi added, noting that the President was briefed on construction work of a number of the main axes in Giza Governorate, especially in the Mansouriya area and Hadayek AlAhram district.
According to the Global Economy, Egypt jumped 89 places in road quality rankings from the 118th in 2014 to the 29th in 2019.
The roads authority had already spent LE 8.5 billion this year.
