The Supreme Committee of the Egyptian French Center for the Study of the Temples of Karnak in Luxor has concluded its meetings to examine the works that have been accomplished during the 2020/2021 season at the temples.
Archaeological researcher Ahmed Amer said that the kings of the New Kingdom in ancient Egypt made them statues in the form of a Sphinx and placed them in front of their temples to guard them.
Today marks the 108th anniversary of the discovery of the head statue of the Pharaonic Queen Nefertiti, the wife of King Akhenaten, precisely on December 7, 1912 by the German archaeologist Ludwig Borchard.
