Egyptian Minister of Solidarity Nevin el-Qabbaj said that the national social initiative “Haya Karima” is considered the largest of Egypt’s national projects, with its budget exceeding L.E. 700 billion.
Egyptian Solidarity Minister Nevine El-Qabbaj handed gifts and money gifts (Eidiya) to 11,000 children in orphanages nationwide on the occasion of Muslim’s Eid Al-Fitr, a statement by the ministry read on Friday.
Qabbaj said the state managed through three years of hard work to turn from traditional social care policies which have failed to meet the citizens’ basic needs toward comprehensive policies of social protection.
Qabbaj mentioned the increase of pensions by 14 percent, and pumping L.E. 14 billion out of L.E. 35 billion; the total of five bonus payments to pensioners.
