Russian Minister of Industry Denis Manturov said that the free trade zone agreement between Egypt and the Eurasian Economic Union can be signed in 2020.
The talks were held for three days, said a statement by the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
The document was signed by Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry Amr Nassar and Minister for Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission Veronika Nikishina.
Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin on Thursday revealed that talks between Egypt and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) on the establishment of a free trade zone will begin before the end of 2018.
The minister clarified that Egypt’s imports recorded $6.3 billion while the exports amounted to $573 million.
The Russian-led Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) intends to set a free trade zone with Egypt and other countries.
