As many as 1,002 violations of shop closure decisions were also detected, said the ministry in a statement.
The Egyptian authorities began on Sunday applying a LE50-fine on people who fail to wear a mask while riding public transportation or in closed spaces.
A total of 256 cafes, 9 educational centers and 9,912 shops have been shut down due to violations of anti-Covid-19 measures, while 66,836 public transport drivers have been apprehended for failing to wear a mask.
Whoever violates these decisions shall be punished with a fine not exceeding LE 4,000, or a penalty of detention.
The decision shall take effect as of next Sunday, May 17, the federation said in a statement Monday.
