Benban Solar Park
Egypt’s Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli met Wednesday with Terje Pilskog, CEO of Scatec company, where they discussed the first issuance of green bonds to finance Benban Solar Park.
“With 23 percent of global emissions come from transport, I believe Egypt is in many ways on the right track," Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Maimunah Mohd Sharif.
Benban Solar Park of Aswan will soon become the world's capital of solar energy for hosting the largest concentration of power-generating solar plants at a capacity of 1,465 megawatts.
The construction of the park is being implemented in accordance with the schedule put by the government and the investors.
The 195-kilometer-long line will be set up within six months, the ministry said, noting that the company has secured the needed funds for the line's establishment.
Benban Solar Park is located in Aswan. It is the largest worldwide, housing 40 solar plants with a total capacity of 2,000 megawatts.
