100 Million Health
The initiative, in its first phase, aims to examine 19 genetic diseases in new-borns in the nurseries of the ministry’s hospitals nationwide, said Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar.
Egypt’s Health Ministry said it has detected 1,454,000 women as part of the presidential initiative for the early detection of and free treatment for diseases transmitted from mothers to fetus since the initiative was launched in March 2020.
The minister has equipped more than 200 permanent centers to provide free treatment for diabetes as part of the 100 Million Healthy Livesinitiative.
Minister of Health Hala Zayed said on Jan. 30 that more than 28.5 million citizens across the country were checked as part of "100 Million Seha" campaign.
The Health Ministry works to help Nile Basin countries cure cases testing positive for Hepatitis C and will send medical personnel to these states.
The campaign dubbed “100 million Health” comes as part of Egypt’s aspiration to end Hepatitis C in the country by 2020.
