The CAPMAS’ Egyptian Family Health conducted a survey and the data shown that the fertility rate in Egypt has declined, as it recorded 3.5 children per woman in 2014 and decreased to 2.85 children per woman in 2021.
The population size is currently 105,901,000 and expected to record 1.6 million in February.
A marriage happens every 34 seconds, while a divorce occurs every two minutes.
Many husbands believe that the current time is not appropriate for having children as a result of fear of the future, psychological pressure, fear of infection, and the economic crisis.
It is estimated that Egypt's population will hit 150 million in 2050 with an increase of 70 percent compared to 2015.
Egypt’s number of births reached 2.55 million in 2017, with 1.288 million in urban areas, and 1.264 million in rural areas.
