Air quality
The Cabinet approved in its meeting Wednesday headed by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, to contract with Cairo University to raise the efficiency of the stations for monitoring ambient air pollutants.
Egyptian Minister of Environment announced that the air quality in the country is normal, saying that the daily averages of sulfur dioxide gas (the main pollutant of volcanic emissions) corresponds to 100 percent of the maximum limits of outdoor air pollutants allowed by the law.
The Ministry of Environment had exerted great efforts to prepare this project after directives from the political leadership in order to develop the environment sector in Egypt.
A prominent strategy for Egypt to reduce air pollution’s rate by 50 percent was announced by the Ministry of Environment on Monday.
