Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has called for tackling the root causes of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by backing the path of calm and advancing efforts of settling the Palestinian cause.
Sisi’s statements came as he participated in a roundtable meeting with representatives of the German business community and heads of giant German industrial companies.
In a speech at a joint press conference with Scholz on Monday in the German capital, Berlin, Sisi said he discussed with the chancellor the hard global economic situation stemming from the crisis in Ukraine, especially in terms of food and energy security in the world and the unprecedented negative effects on these countries’ markets due to the crisis.
French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said on Saturday he was confident of reaching an agreement with Germany this month.
