Cooking Oil
During a meeting with representatives, manufacturers and importers of cooking oil, Moselhi said there are sufficient quantities of cooking oil whether raw materials or bottled ones.
An official in the Ministry of Supply told Egypt Today that around 30,000 tons will be soybean oil, while more than 10,000 tons will be sunflower oil.
The government is now working to expand the subsidies system to ensure it reaches the right beneficiaries, as well as widening the social safety nets, the minister said.
The Public Authority of Supply has signed agreements to buy 61,000 tons of edible oil as part of a government effort to meet the needs of strategic commodities.
Egypt has signed deals to import 60,000 tons of sunflower oil and 30,000 tons of soybean oil, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali El-Sayed Ali El-Moselhi said, according to state-owned Al-Ahram.
