In his remarks, Minister Badawi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing the mining industry’s contribution to Egypt’s GDP, with a target increase from the current 1% to between 5% and 6%
The ministry added the authority inked an agreement with the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt to cooperate in training and building capabilities of human cadres in the mining sector.
Sukari mine’s scrap includes a number of broken down tools and equipment, as well as the industrial waste that existed at the company’s site in Marsa Allam.
Around $100 million of the yields are the mine's profits since the beginning of the profit distribution between the company and the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA).
