CAIRO - 4 July 2022: The Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA) signed three memorandums of understanding with global institutions and companies to contribute to developing human cadres and boosting the main structure of mines.
The MoUs aim to promote cooperation with major companies worldwide in the oil and gas sector to learn more about chances for exploring important minerals to meet the demand of carrying out energy transition projects and reduce harmful greenhouse gas emissions, the petroleum ministry said in a statement Monday.
The ministry added the authority inked an agreement with the American Chamber of Commerce in Egypt to cooperate in training and building capabilities of human cadres in the mining sector.
Under the deal, AmCham Egypt will support the implementation of the ministry's vision on developing the mining sector through training courses, according to it.
Two memorandums were signed with IEOC Production BV of Italy's Eni and MSALABS company, the ministry added.
The MoUs call for cooperating in exploring minerals that will be used in energy transition and clean energy projects and honing skills of the authority's employees, it noted.
