During discussions with Emmanuel Nyirinkindi, IFC's Vice President of Cross-Cutting Solutions, Minister Al-Mashat explored avenues for collaboration to bolster private sector involvement in Egyptian government initiatives.
Their goal is to expand the range of products offered to cater to Egypt's unbanked and underserved populations.
The agreement, orchestrated to span 60 months, will be executed through the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in conjunction with the Ministries of Industry, Investment, and Foreign Trade, alongside the EU.
This ministry was previously known as the Ministry of Public Business Sector. It was separated from the Ministry of Public Business Sector on March 23, 2016, and was then permanently abolished in 2018.
The newly formed ministry will be led by Rania Al-Mashat, who has served in the cabinet since 2018. Al-Mashat brings over 20 years of experience in international development, finance, and sustainable development to the role.
